Boulevard I Jockey Plaza

The Jockey Plaza shopping center was extended to the exterior, creating a main square that would be the center of all future extensions. This central plaza had a tower which would be seen from far away. The concept of the project was to create a light and color show, so that it can be observed by the visitors of the mall from any angle. To accentuate the vertical cylinder a sandblasted sheet was projected that gradually diffused the light and thus be able to generate a color gradient in each petal and give it volume.

The lighting of the tower is complemented by a very elaborate detail worked on the floor, where LED strips were embedded with individual control by node, drawing each of the floor sheets, on them a glass with the same sandblasted sheet of the petals of the tower.

The effect is a light that subtly starts in the tower and dissolves in the floor, sometimes it seems water that fades through the channels and other a play of light that is drawing one by one the leaves. The main focus was to create a space where children have fun chasing light but at the same time creates an atmosphere that is constantly changing, elegantly programmed to not saturate the vision.
